Witney Carson, a professional dancer on "Dancing With the Stars," announced on Monday that she is expecting her third child with husband Carson McAllister. The announcement was made during an appearance on "Good Morning America," where Carson also confirmed her return for Season 35 of the show.
"I am expecting. So I will be dancing with this little baby right here," Carson said, holding her stomach. "Very excited but would be lying if I said it wasn’t a little daunting. I’ve never been this far along pregnant and competing on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ before."
Carson, 32, stated that she is four months pregnant and acknowledged that this pregnancy has been more challenging than her previous two, experiencing significant sickness during the first trimester that required her to withdraw from other commitments. Despite the difficulties, she expressed pride in her ability to compete while pregnant.
"I’m so proud to be a woman, to be creating life, and growing this human, and to be able to do the show and compete and be able to grow this life is such a huge blessing. I’m so proud of it, and I’m going to kick butt while doing it,” she stated.
Carson explained that saying yes to competing on "Dancing With the Stars" was an easy decision due to her passion for the show and its role in providing for her family. "It’s my passion. It’s not only my passion, but it’s the way I provide for my family, provide for my children, and it’s my career. It’s my whole life. It was an easy decision at the end of the day, to do it,” she said.
In addition to her pregnancy news, Carson revealed that her celebrity partner for Season 35 will be "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" star Guillermo Rodriguez. "I am going to be dancing with Guillermo and I am thrilled because he just seems like the sweetest, kindest person ever," she commented. "I haven’t met him yet, but from what I’ve seen. I’m just really excited. He seems really fun and in this season of my life, that’s perfect. So I couldn’t have asked for a better partner this season."
Carson and McAllister, high school sweethearts married since 2016, are already parents to two sons: Leo, born in January 2021, and Jet, born in May 2023. Carson shared a video on Instagram of her and her husband telling their two children about the upcoming arrival of their new sibling, captioning the post, "We’ve been keeping a secret… a new addition to the McAllister gang coming soon! We are so grateful and overjoyed to be growing our family 👼."
