“The Gilded Age” returns for its fourth season tonight, November 1, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and the streaming service Max.
The new season picks up after the events of the Season 3 finale, which saw George and Bertha Russell separating following an assassination attempt on George and Bertha's role in forcing their daughter, Gladys, into a marriage with the Duke of Buckingham. The official logline for Season 4 states: “Bertha Russell changed Society at a cost. Now, her family must reckon with the consequences as Agnes van Rhijn seizes an opportunity to regain her position. Meanwhile, Marian forges a new path for herself, and Peggy works to be accepted by her future in-laws. In this new era, you must be careful what you wish for.”
DECIDER has described the new season as “the closest thing on today’s TV buffet to high end caviar: decadent, indulgent, and downright delightful,” noting it as the HBO hit “at its most confident: a killer mix of high class craftsmanship and old school camp.”
To watch the premiere, viewers can tune into HBO or stream it on Max. Subscriptions for HBO Max start at $10.99 per month with ads, while an ad-free version costs $18.49 per month. Discounted bundles including Max, Hulu, and Disney+ are also available, starting at $19.99 per month with ads.
