Willem Dafoe portrays a postal worker and poet named Saxberger in the upcoming film "Late Fame." The movie focuses on Saxberger's life as he is approached by a young man named Wilson Meyers, played by Edmund Donovan. Meyers, who describes himself as part of an "artistic community" of poets and intellectuals, claims to be a devoted fan of Saxberger's work, having discovered it at Foyles on Charing Cross Road.

Meyers invites Saxberger to join his group at a local speakeasy, an invitation Saxberger initially declines before ultimately relenting. The film explores Saxberger's interactions with this younger generation who find inspiration in his previously overlooked poetry.
