Prime Video's action-comedy series "Ride or Die," starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham, has garnered significant attention since its July 15 debut, leading to speculation about a potential second season. While an official renewal announcement has not yet been made, showrunner Matt Miller has indicated that plans for future installments are being considered.
"Ride or Die" follows Debbie (Spencer) and Judith (Waddingham), two best friends whose lives are upended when one's secret as an international assassin is revealed, forcing them on the run. The series consists of eight episodes in its first season and features a supporting cast including Ed Skrein, Calam Lynch, Savannah Steyn, Jamie Parker, Jacky Ido, Sylvia Hoeks, and Bill Nighy.
Miller suggested that if renewed, Season 2 would pick up directly after the events of the first season finale. He also hinted at new storylines, villains, and international settings for the protagonists, with a wedding potentially being a central event. The show's positive reception, including a 97% Tomatometer score, and its current ranking as the No. 1 program on Prime Video, are seen as strong indicators for a potential renewal.
"Ride or Die" is exclusively available for streaming on Prime Video. New subscribers can access the platform through a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, which includes Prime Video and other benefits. After the trial, Amazon Prime costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. A discounted Prime for Young Adults membership is also available for individuals aged 18-24.
