Will Ferrell is returning to television screens with a new 10-episode Netflix comedy series titled 'The Hawk.' The show features Ferrell as fictional golf legend Lonnie ‘The Hawk’ Hawkins, who embarks on a quest to win the Grand Slam.

Premiering exclusively on Netflix on July 16, 'The Hawk' promises a blend of Ferrell's signature comedic style with elements of heart. The series centers on Lonnie’s attempts to revive his career, grappling with the fact that he is no longer the golfer he once was. His comeback journey will also involve navigating complex relationships with his son, who is a successful golfer in his own right, and his estranged wife.

Adding to the challenges, Lonnie will face off against his son, who is also his number one golf rival, and confront other adversaries from his past. The series aims to deliver laughs while exploring Lonnie’s personal struggles and his efforts to mend his relationships.

The cast includes several notable actors. Molly Shannon, an alumna of Saturday Night Live, will play Lonnie’s estranged wife, Stacy. Jimmy Tatro is set to portray Lonnie’s son, and Luke Wilson will play one of Lonnie’s golf rivals, Golden Fisk. Fortune Feimster will take on the role of Sam, Lonnie’s new caddie.

Ferrell has employed modern promotional tactics for the series, including creating a fake Instagram account for his character. Netflix offers various subscription plans, with prices ranging from $7.99 per month for standard with ads to $24.99 per month for premium ad-free 4K UHD streaming.
