Whitney Leavitt has shared her perspective on Jen Affleck's elimination from "Dancing With the Stars" (DWTS) during Season 34 in 2025. In a confessional for "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" Season 5, Leavitt acknowledged that while she was relieved not to be eliminated herself, she was also "a little happy" that it was Affleck who was sent home.
The reality stars, who were castmates on DWTS and also featured together in "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," experienced a public rift. This tension was particularly evident in Season 4 of "Mormon Wives," following Jen Affleck's first-place elimination from DWTS. Viewers noted Leavitt's smile when Affleck's name was called, leading to fan criticism.
At the time, Leavitt explained her reaction as an involuntary response to not hearing her own name, indicating relief at the prospect of continuing in the DWTS competition. However, in the recent "Mormon Wives" confessional, Leavitt offered a more direct admission.
"Let's set the record straight, I, genuinely, to God, I don’t remember being like, ‘he he, ha ha, you’re going home,'" Leavitt stated. "That was not the intention. Of course I’m happy that my name isn’t called because I want to stay. I would have been relieved if it was anyone… but I was a little happy it was Jen."
This admission came during a conversation between Leavitt and Affleck, where Affleck apologized for sending her husband, Zac Affleck, to address their issues with Leavitt. While Affleck appeared to accept some responsibility for their strained relationship, Leavitt expressed no desire to pursue a further connection.
Leavitt's departure from "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" after Season 5 was also noted. Her increasing commitments on screen and stage, including an upcoming role as Sandra Dee in "Just In Time" on Broadway, have contributed to her absence from the show's home base in Utah. The recent drama involving fellow cast member Taylor Frankie Paul also factored into expectations of Leavitt's potential exit.
Leavitt is expected to return to "Dancing With the Stars" this season to support her husband, Conner, who is among the 16 contestants competing for the Mirror Ball Trophy. "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" Season 5 is currently available for streaming on Hulu, and "Dancing With the Stars" Season 35 is set to premiere on September 15.
