West Wilson has confirmed his departure from the Bravo reality series "Summer House," stating that reports of him not returning for season 11 are true. The 31-year-old addressed the rumors during an appearance on "The Broadcast Boys," where he acknowledged the speculation.
"I wanted to tell it on my own but that is true," Wilson stated. "But in their defense, I don’t think it would have been a fun summer."
Wilson's confirmation follows multiple reports, including from TMZ, suggesting he was not picked up for the upcoming season. Filming for the new season was expected to begin around Independence Day weekend, with reports indicating Wilson would not be present, though a cameo appearance remains a possibility.
Wilson joined "Summer House" in season eight and became the center of a significant storyline after beginning a relationship with co-star Amanda Batula. The pairing caused shockwaves within their friend group, particularly affecting Ciara Miller, Wilson's ex-girlfriend, and Kyle Cooke, Batula's ex-partner.
Batula and Wilson confirmed their relationship in March, releasing a joint statement to address the growing speculation and complicated dynamics within the cast. "It was never our intention to purposefully hide anything," the statement read. "Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it."
The statement further explained that their connection grew from a "genuine, long-standing friendship" and that they recognized their actions had an impact on others in the group. "We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this."
The fallout from the relationship was a central theme at the recent "Summer House" reunion, which host Andy Cohen described as one of the most intense in Bravo's history. Cohen noted the significant emotional toll the events had taken on the cast members, describing the group as "rocked and devastated."
