Vogue Williams has publicly criticized Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis for his relationships with significantly younger women, specifically mentioning a 19-year-old girlfriend. Williams, a presenter and media personality, shared her disappointment on her podcast, "My Therapist Ghosted Me."
"Do you know who else I find really disappointing and hasn't broken the law but really disappointing because I really like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis, and he is like fifty-four or something and he is going out with a nineteen-year-old," Williams stated on the podcast, co-hosted by Joanne McNally. "And it is like 'dude what are you talking about?'"
Kiedis, 63, has a history of dating women considerably younger than himself. The article notes a past relationship with Australian model Helena Vestergaard, whom he reportedly began dating when she was 19 and he was in his early fifties. He currently has a 33-year age gap with his girlfriend, Eileen Kelly.
Williams expressed confusion over the potential common ground in such relationships. "I would have to say that it is not all men. Because I do think that for that it is a very specific thing. Especially with things like that I just don't understand what am I going to talk to let's say a sixteen-year-old about? How was school? Did you have fun at school with your friends?"
McNally, her co-host, responded by acknowledging that while not all men are drawn to younger partners, it appears to be a common tendency. She suggested that figures like Kiedis can attract younger partners due to their fame and fortune, stating that a 19-year-old might prefer dating a "millionaire rockstar who is going to treat them like a princess" over an older individual.
Williams concluded her remarks by emphasizing the principle, "just because you can doesn't mean you should."
Kiedis is also a father to his 18-year-old son, Everly Bear Kiedi, with ex-girlfriend Heather Christie. Kiedis has previously spoken about his positive experiences with fatherhood, describing it as something that "gives you energy" and "makes people better." He has been a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers since 1982.
