VisitEngland has revealed the winners of its 2026 Awards for Excellence, celebrating the best in the country's tourism and hospitality sector. The awards span a wide range of categories, from accommodation and attractions to dining and experiences.
In the accommodation sector, Bovey Castle in Devon took home the Gold award for Large Hotel of the Year, while The Tempus in Northumberland secured the top spot in the Small Hotel of the Year category. MonkBridge House in York was named the B&B and Guest House of the Year. For self-catering options, Bosinver Farm Cottages in Cornwall received the award for Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year, and Clawford Lakes Resort and Spa in Devon was recognized as the Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year.
Pubs were also honored, with The Kirkstyle Inn and Sportsman's Rest in Northumberland earning the title of Pub of the Year. IMAGE5
Attractions were celebrated across several categories. Jimmy's Farm & Wildlife Park in Suffolk won Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, and Morgan Experience in Worcestershire was named Small Visitor Attraction of the Year. IMAGE7
The Experience of the Year award went to Blacksmithing Experience Days at Oldfield Forge in Herefordshire, while The Beatles Story in Liverpool received the International Tourism Award. IMAGE9
In a new category, Regenerative Tourism Award, Eight at Gazegill by Doug Crampton in Lancashire was awarded Gold. The Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award was also presented, with Hoe Grange Holidays in the Peak District, Derbyshire, receiving the Gold award.
Recognition was also given to individuals and content creators. Jayne Chapman from Tatton Park in Cheshire received the Unsung Hero Award. The Travel Content Award highlighted journalistic work, with Rhiannon Batten of The Guardian winning for her piece on food-lover's cycle tours in Herefordshire. The Tourism Superstar Award was given to Mick Hurst, CEO and founder of The Battle of Evesham historical events and re-enactments.
The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence are an annual event designed to showcase and reward businesses that provide outstanding experiences for visitors and demonstrate excellence in the tourism industry.
