Violet Grohl, the 20-year-old daughter of Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl, has canceled two scheduled UK performances after losing her voice.
On Tuesday, hours before her planned show at Manchester's Band On The Wall, Grohl announced the cancellations on Instagram. She also called off a performance scheduled for Wednesday at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut. "I don't have a voice right now and it pains me to make this decision, but I just can't perform," she wrote.
Grohl stated that the shows will be rescheduled and ticket holders will be provided with updated information. "We're rescheduling these shows and everyone who bought a ticket will receive the updated info. Looking forward to seeing you soon. xx I'll be back!!!" she added.
The canceled dates were in support of her debut album, "Be Sweet To Me," released in May. Dave Grohl has previously stated that he had no involvement in his daughter's album, which she produced with Justin Raisen. "She made this album with a producer named Justin Raisen, and she did it on her own," he told Radio X. "She met the producer, and they would go to the studio every day and she would send me songs when she was finished. But I had absolutely nothing to do with this record at all."
Violet did acknowledge her father's influence on her musical aspirations, telling British Vogue in May, "I wouldn't have dived as deep into music without him." She added, "I dreamed of this shit when I was like, 12 years old."
This marks a significant step in her music career, which launched less than two years after Dave Grohl confirmed he had fathered a child outside of his marriage. He revealed the news in September 2024, stating he intended to be a supportive parent to the new baby and was working to regain the trust of his wife, Jordyn Blum, and their other children. The couple also share daughters Ophelia and Harper.
