Vincent Pastore, the actor widely recognized for his role as Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero in the acclaimed HBO series "The Sopranos," has died at the age of 80. His manager, Robert Attermann, confirmed his death, stating that Pastore passed away at home in The Bronx.
Attermann, who represented Pastore for over three decades, remembered him as more than just the memorable "Big Pussy" character. "To the world, he will always be remembered as the unforgettable 'Big Pussy,' but to those of us who knew him, he was so much more," Attermann said.
Pastore's portrayal of Bonpensiero was a pivotal part of "The Sopranos" narrative, depicting a key member of Tony Soprano's inner circle who later betrayed him. Beyond his iconic role on the HBO drama, Pastore's acting credits include appearances in films such as "Goodfellas," "A Bronx Tale," "Carlito's Way," and "Gotti." He also had roles in television projects including "Blue Bloods," "Law & Order," and "Hawaii Five-0," and most recently lent his voice to an episode of "Yellowjackets."

Attermann described Pastore as a passionate actor who was generous with his craft, particularly with aspiring young actors. "He loved being an actor. He was passionate about his craft and was always encouraging, respectful, and generous with young actors, taking the time to offer guidance and support whenever he could," Attermann stated.
In addition to his acting career, Pastore participated in several reality competition shows, including "Dancing with the Stars," "Celebrity Fit Club," and "Celebrity Apprentice."
Attermann also highlighted Pastore's personal character, calling him "one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever known." He added, "He treated everyone with warmth and respect, never turning down a fan who wanted a photograph or an autograph. He genuinely appreciated the people who supported him and always made them feel valued."
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee.
