Victoria Beckham was seen enjoying a family lunch on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, marking a moment of personal celebration amidst her son Cruz's debut EP release.
Family Gathering on the Amalfi Coast
The Beckham family gathered at the celebrity hotspot Lo Scoglio restaurant. Victoria Beckham, 52, wore a sheer mint green dress, and was pictured sharing a public display of affection with her husband, David Beckham, 51. David was seen planting a kiss on her cheek during the meal. The group included their daughter Harper, 15, son Cruz, 21, and Cruz's girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30. David's mother, Sandra, also joined the lunch, which was likely held to celebrate the release of Cruz's debut six-track EP, "Wear & Tear."
The family enjoyed pasta dishes and wine, with David later seen cleansing his palate with watermelon. David also shared moments with his son, taking selfies, and later returned to his luxury yacht to relax. Cruz's girlfriend, Jackie, drew attention in a plunging white sundress, complemented by a colorful headscarf. Romeo Beckham, 23, and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 25, were also present, appearing affectionate.
Cruz Beckham's Debut EP and Family Dynamics
Cruz's new EP, "Wear & Tear," recorded with his band The Breakers, reportedly reflects on life experiences. One song, "Wannabe," is a tribute to his mother, referencing the Spice Girls' hit. However, other tracks on the EP are interpreted as hinting at a rift with his estranged older brother, Brooklyn Beckham.
Lyrics in the song "Seeing Red" have been seen as a jab at Brooklyn, with lines like: "Been seeing red for as long as I remember." Cruz, however, has described the song as a "comedic take on a totally unserious moment of frustration." The music video for "Seeing Red" features football-themed scenes, with Cruz and his bandmates, nodding to his father's career, but also includes depictions of conflict.
Another track, "Loneliest Boy," has also been interpreted as referencing family estrangement, with lyrics such as "breaking mama’s heart." These songs come amid reports of a significant falling out between Brooklyn and the rest of the Beckham family.
Brooklyn Beckham's Estrangement and Public Comments
Brooklyn Beckham has been absent from the family's European trip. Reports suggest a rift began around the time of David's 50th birthday. Brooklyn has reportedly blocked his parents on Instagram and, in January, allegedly released a statement denouncing his parents, calling them "performative" and claiming they had controlled him and attempted to create distance between him and his wife, Nicola Peltz. He also reportedly expressed embarrassment over his mother's dancing at his wedding.
Despite statements about seeking privacy, Brooklyn recently appeared in a DoorDash advertisement that some fans interpreted as making light of his family estrangement. The advert, released in June, featured Brooklyn humorously discussing watching the FIFA World Cup from home, which was seen by some as a mockery of his strained relationship with his parents. Friends of the Beckhams have reportedly described them as "devastated and inconsolable" by the advertisement.
