Vicky Pattison has shared moments from a trip to Ibiza with her husband Ercan Ramadan, seeking respite from her recent fertility struggles. Pattison, 38, had previously disclosed on her podcast that she feels "lost" as she does not yet have a child, offering fans an intimate look into her fertility journey.
The presenter traveled to the Spanish island to host a live event for Heart Radio before enjoying personal time with Ramadan and friends. She posted a collection of photos from the getaway on Instagram, including images of herself in a bikini and with her husband.
Pattison has been open about her experiences with fertility treatments, having begun freezing her eggs at age 35 with the goal of taking control of her reproductive future. This process resulted in three embryos being frozen.
She recently confirmed that she and Ramadan are actively trying to conceive, expressing her emotional distress at not having a family at her current age. During an appearance on the BBC's Sort Your Life Out Unpacked podcast, Pattison reflected on life's unexpected paths and her own readiness for parenthood.
"I've never really felt ready until now," she stated on the podcast. "It's wild but like something just clicks, and the minute you feel ready it's like you need a baby straight away. And all my whole life I felt so content and so happy and so proud of the things I was doing, and now all of a sudden, because I don't have a baby, I feel a bit lost."
She added that she loves her husband deeply and believes he will be a great father, noting their efforts to avoid undue pressure. Pattison highlighted the security provided by her decision to freeze her eggs and expressed hope for wider accessibility and affordability of such treatments for women.
In a previous interview with Women's Health UK, Pattison described a "huge question mark over motherhood" and the "suffocating" pressure to have a baby now that she is married. She also mentioned that taking a break from her career, which she has worked hard to build, is a significant concern.
Pattison, who met Ramadan at age 31, stated that giving their relationship space was the best decision, allowing her to feel less confined and more liberated. She and Ramadan are reportedly in agreement about wanting more time to consider parenthood.
Discussing the societal expectations around motherhood on the Women's Health Just as Well podcast, Pattison shared her mother's supportive perspective: "If not having children is your trajectory, that's fine." Pattison believes society is increasingly recognizing that a woman's fulfillment is not solely dependent on having children. She reiterated that the prospect of pausing her career development is daunting, despite her pride in her personal and professional growth.
