A fan who appeared uncomfortable during a steamy performance by Usher at his Nashville concert last Friday has spoken out, asserting that she was not reluctant to go on stage and that Usher's team had moved her and her mother to VIP seating prior to the incident. The fan, Gabrielle Cheyenne, shared her account on Facebook, refuting claims that she was visibly uncomfortable or that she was removed due to her reaction.
"First off NOBODY is declining to go on stage," Cheyenne wrote. "I looked good asf, you thought I wasn’t gonna let THOUSANDS of people see me?? On the big screen, where you bitches will never be????"
Cheyenne stated that she and her mother originally had floor seats but were moved to VIP before the show commenced. She also claimed that Usher's team did not fully explain the purpose of her being brought on stage. "Y’all wanted me to get up there and f–k him atp ??" she questioned.
Responding to online criticism, Cheyenne defended her actions and demeanor on her Instagram Stories, insisting her attitude was not "nasty." She stated that she would not be bullied about an experience she had, especially when others were not present. In an interview with Chris Brown’s backup dancer Lance Savali, Cheyenne clarified that she holds "no bad blood" toward Usher and was simply focused on him during the performance.
"You’re not paying attention to that. Usher is right in front of me. That’s what I’m looking at," she said. "Everything else is drowned out."
Cheyenne's mother, Tia Byrd, also shared her perspective on Facebook, posting a photo of Cheyenne with Usher's wife, Jennifer Goicoechea, after the performance. "Usher’s WIFE & Gabrielle Cheyenne AFTER THE STAGE APPEARANCE YA’LL SHE AIN’T MAD SO Y TF YA’LL MAD," Byrd wrote, suggesting her daughter was not upset by the event.
During the concert segment in question, Usher performed seductive dance moves and invited Cheyenne onto an on-stage bed. At one point, Usher asked the audience, "I don’t think she want to be on the stage, huh?" He then signaled for her to be brought off stage. Some audience members reportedly booed during the awkward moment.
Usher is currently on tour with Chris Brown. Their R&B Tour began on June 26, with subsequent shows scheduled.
