Usher has humorously addressed a viral conspiracy theory suggesting he was cloned. The speculation arose from a video clip showing the singer at a Chris Brown concert, which some viewers debated online as potentially featuring a Usher “clone.”
Radio station Power 105.1 shared the footage, prompting the discussion. In response to the theory, Usher commented on the Instagram post, writing, "Ya’ll are funny…clone? They can’t clone this?? How ya’ll come up with this? AI ain’t that advanced."
Social media users offered various explanations for the rumor, with some suggesting the person in the video was walking awkwardly or not moving as fluidly as the singer typically does. However, one commenter who was present at the event stated, “He literally walks through the crowd after this song lol and he walked right in front of me. It was him.”
Usher is not the first artist to face such a conspiracy. Avril Lavigne has for years been the subject of rumors claiming she died in the early 2000s and was replaced by a look-alike. Lavigne addressed these theories in 2024 on the podcast “Call Her Daddy,” calling them "funny" and stating, "I mean, obviously, I am me — it’s so dumb."
