A concert-goer who gained notoriety after being removed from Usher's stage during a performance stated that her reaction would have differed significantly had Chris Brown been the artist on stage. Usher is currently co-headlining The R&B Tour with Brown.
The fan, identified as Gabrielle Cheyenne, admitted in a Monday interview with TMZ that her primary reason for attending the Nashville concert was to see Chris Brown, not Usher.
"Me, solely, I went to the concert for Chris Brown, it’s nothing against Usher," Cheyenne stated. "So, of course, it would have been a different reaction with Chris Brown. It wouldn’t have been the stiffness or whatever the internet is portraying."
Cheyenne explained that she was moved to a VIP section before the show without prior instructions. She indicated that she would have declined the opportunity if she had known it was for Usher and not Brown.
"It was never my intention to rile all these people up and ruin the moment," she added. Cheyenne also noted an age difference between herself and Usher, stating, "I mean, I’ve been listening to his music since I was a little girl... I know his music, but I can prefer one artist over the other."
Brown is also known for engaging with fans on stage, sometimes involving lap dances. In September 2025, a similar incident involving Brown and Travis Kelce's ex, Kayla Nicole, during a Los Angeles tour stop went viral.
Cheyenne also addressed criticism from Usher fans on social media. In a Facebook post, she defended her actions, writing, "First off NOBODY is declining to go on stage... My mom and I had FLOOR SEATS. Their team approached us and moved us to VIP before the show even started !! PRETTY PRIVILEGES something you hoes will never know about!!"
She was also photographed backstage with Usher's wife, Jennifer Goicoechea, suggesting no lingering animosity.
