Universal Kids Resort, a new theme park designed for young children and families, is set to open its doors on July 1, 2026, in Frisco, Texas.
The 20-acre resort will feature seven themed lands with over 30 attractions, including rides, live entertainment, play zones, and character meet-and-greets. The park aims to provide an immersive experience with interactive attractions and sensory-friendly spaces.
Themed Lands and Attractions
Inspired by popular franchises, the park's lands include DreamWorks' Shrek's Swamp, where guests can experience "Shrek & Fiona's Happily Ogre After" attraction and play areas like "Shrek's Swamp Rompin' Stomp." Fans of Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants will find themselves in Bikini Bottom, with attractions like "Jellyfish Fields Jamboree" and "Bobbing Barrels." Illumination's Minions vs. Minions land transforms Bello Bay Club with rides like the "Bello Bay Cruise" and "Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby."
Music and dancing are central to DreamWorks' TrollsFest, featuring the "King Trollex Techno Dance Party" and a live stage production. For dinosaur enthusiasts, Jurassic World Adventure Camp includes the "Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster," "Mr. DNA's Double Helix Spin," and "Pteranodrop."
The park's central gathering space, the Isle of Curiosity, will host interactive activities and character appearances, including Gabby from Gabby's Dollhouse.
Accommodations and Amenities
Adjacent to the park entrance, the Universal Kids Resort Hotel offers 300 family-friendly rooms and suites. Amenities include an outdoor pool, arcade room, fitness center, and dining options. The hotel is designed to complement the park experience, allowing families to stay on-site.
