Ulrika Jonsson, 58, has showcased a series of dramatic hair transformations using various wigs, sharing the playful moments with her followers on Instagram Stories. Jonsson told fans she was "considering a change" as she donned a short black wig with red highlights, followed by a curly brunette wig reminiscent of 1970s styles, and later a platinum-blonde bob with glasses.

These public experiments with her appearance come as Jonsson continues to speak candidly about her journey to sobriety, which she described as a "spiritual awakening." The presenter is nearing two years of sobriety after previously experiencing a period where she wished alcohol would end her life. She shared on the In Recovery Ark House Rehab podcast that after reaching a low point, she transitioned from "not wanting to live anymore to trying to squeeze every moment out of life."

Jonsson detailed how her drinking escalated significantly in the two years leading up to her sobriety, using alcohol as a mood regulator to bridge the gap between her public persona and private life. She noted a period of hedonism during lockdown that led to a rapid deterioration in her drinking habits, acknowledging she was shocked by how quickly the situation worsened.

She recalled a pivotal, "shaming" phone call from her best friend in June 2024, which she credits with saving her life. Her friend expressed concern, stating, "I need to speak to you because I spoke to you at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon and I could understand a f***ing word you said. You have a problem and I can't help you."

Despite the difficult conversation, Jonsson initially continued to drink. However, the realization of her friend's concern, coming from a place of love, was a significant turning point. She stated, "I knew that she knew that I had a problem too. And I was said, 'I can't do this anymore.'"

Reflecting on her recovery, Jonsson expressed feeling a sense of belonging and safety after her first support group meeting. She believes elements of the recovery program should be taught in schools and has shared aspects of it with her children. She emphasized that while life still presents challenges, she now possesses different coping mechanisms. "It felt like I was waiting for this my whole life," she said of the spiritual aspect of her sobriety, adding, "I missed having some kind of faith."
