Ulrika Jonsson, 58, has showcased a series of dramatic transformations, experimenting with various wigs and sharing the results on her Instagram Stories. The presenter, known for her signature blonde hair, posted photos featuring a short black wig with red highlights, a curly brunette style reminiscent of the 1970s, and a sleek platinum-blonde bob.
These style explorations come as Jonsson approaches her two-year anniversary of sobriety. She recently spoke about her journey on the In Recovery Ark House Rehab podcast, describing her sobriety as a "spiritual awakening." Jonsson shared that she moved from a state of "not wanting to live anymore" to actively "squeeze every moment out of life" after abstaining from alcohol.
Reflecting on her past struggles, Jonsson explained that her drinking intensified in the two years leading up to her sobriety, serving as a mood alterer that bridged her public and private personas. She noted how quickly the situation deteriorated, admitting that she had hoped alcohol would lead to her demise.
A pivotal moment in her decision to seek help was a phone call from her best friend in June 2024. Jonsson recalled the difficult conversation where her friend expressed concern over her slurred speech and inability to communicate clearly, stating, "You have a problem and I can't help you."
Despite the shame she felt, Jonsson acknowledged that this intervention was life-saving, pulling her from the depths of addiction. She credits the recovery program with providing a sense of belonging and a new way to cope with life's challenges, stating, "Life will throw stuff at me still but now I deal with it in a completely different way."
