Tori Spelling has abruptly departed from the "90210MG" podcast, which she co-hosted with former "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-star Jennie Garth.
Spelling announced her exit from the podcast, launched in 2020, during an Instagram Live session. The actress, 53, stated her intention to pursue other projects and encouraged listeners to continue following the show with Garth. The podcast was in the midst of recapping Season 8 of the original "Beverly Hills, 90210" series, which aired for 10 seasons between 1990 and 2000.
Us Weekly reported that while Spelling had not participated in recent podcast episodes, Garth, 54, is committed to continuing the rewatch series. A source indicated that Garth plans to finish the rewatch and feature special guests and co-hosts from the show. Representatives for Spelling, Garth, and iHeart Media did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Fans have noted Spelling's absence on the podcast, with some finding it "weird" that her departure was not addressed directly on the show. "They don’t mention it on the actual podcast but [Spelling] announces it on a live video with Brian [Austin Green]," one fan commented on social media, suggesting that an amicable exit would typically involve a joint announcement. Another expressed disappointment that the situation had not been addressed on the podcast itself.
Spelling and Garth played Donna Martin and Kelly Taylor, respectively, on the iconic teen drama. They reprised their roles for the 2019 revival series, "BH90210," alongside other original cast members. When the "90210MG" podcast began in November 2020, Spelling described her friendship with Garth as the most consistent connection in her life, spanning 30 years. She expressed excitement about the podcast, stating it was a way to blend their friendship with their "90210" experience for the fans.
