Tori Spelling addressed her abrupt exit from the "9021OMG" podcast, co-hosted with former "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-star Jennie Garth, during an Instagram Live session with Brian Austin Green.
Spelling, 53, stated that she intends to "speak [her] truth" about the situation but wants to do so in a "thoughtful way, rather than being reactive." She echoed Green's sentiment that she "needed a little time ... to sort of gather [her] thoughts" and plans to "really take the time to really assess, really reflect" before offering further explanation.
She encouraged listeners to continue supporting the podcast, urging them to "please, please keep watching Jennie and Amy [Sugarman]," who are currently covering the eighth season of the show. Spelling noted that the podcast, which launched in 2020, features "tons of fun hosts" and is "amazing."
Spelling initially announced her departure in a July Instagram Live with Green, citing a desire to pursue other projects. Garth, 54, called Spelling's exit "sad" but expressed happiness for her former co-star "to choose herself." Sugarman added that the decision was "100 percent her decision" and acknowledged that while they are "bummed and disappointed," they also want Spelling to be happy.
Spelling and Garth starred as Donna Martin and Kelly Taylor, respectively, on "Beverly Hills, 90210" from 1990 to 2000. They reprised their roles in the 2008 spinoff "90210" and later played heightened versions of themselves in the 2019 mockumentary-style revival series, "BH90210."
A source previously told Page Six that there was no falling out between Spelling and Garth. However, another insider suggested Garth had become "completely unresponsive and not there for Tori" during Spelling's personal difficulties, including her hospital visits and divorce from Dean McDermott, and had allegedly treated Spelling "like a liability" in relation to the podcast.
