Top Gear will return to television, the BBC has confirmed, ending a hiatus that began after co-host Andrew Flintoff was injured in a filming accident. The popular motoring program had been off the air since 2022.

During a shoot that year, Flintoff, a former cricketer, suffered significant facial and rib injuries when his three-wheeled open-top car overturned at the show's test track. At the time of the incident, he was presenting alongside Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris.

The BBC has not yet announced the lineup of presenters for the show's comeback. Last week, The Sun newspaper reported that comedian Jimmy Carr was in discussions to join the program, but BBC Studios declined to comment on the speculation.
