Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee posted a kissy photo of himself and wife Brittany Furlan on Tuesday, writing "Happy Birthday lover!!!!," a move that appeared to put to rest persistent rumors that the couple had split.

The post came after months of speculation about the status of the 62-year-old rocker and his 39-year-old wife. Lee had pushed back on separation rumors in mid-July on Instagram, calling talk of a split "fake news," while Furlan had posted a series of introspective videos and disclosed she was living in a hotel and "going through a lot" in her marriage.

The couple, who married in 2019 after meeting on the dating app Raya, also appeared to confirm their relationship status through social media the same day: Furlan shared an Instagram Story showing a silhouetted video of the two sharing a kiss. The public displays came after a widely reported catfishing incident earlier this year in which Furlan said she had unknowingly exchanged messages with someone impersonating musician Ronnie Radke.

Furlan addressed that incident in May, saying she had been communicating with a person she believed to be Radke and had told Lee about the interaction. "I told my husband everything," she said in a video, and acknowledged that her messages were inappropriate. She described the episode as "embarrassing" for both herself and Lee and said she had been staying in a hotel amid personal struggles.

According to Furlan, Lee confronted the person with whom she had been corresponding. She said she often "likes" and messages people on social media and told the impersonator to "leave me alone". The exchange and Furlan's subsequent social-media posts prompted observers to question whether the couple's marriage was in trouble.

Lee has been married several times previously. His marriages include brief unions to Elaine Starchuk and Heather Locklear, an engagement to model Bobbie Brown that did not result in marriage, and a high-profile wedding to Pamela Anderson in 1995; Lee and Anderson share sons Brandon Thomas Lee, 29, and Dylan Jagger Lee, 27. He became engaged to Furlan in 2018 and they wed the following year.

The Instagram post and Furlan's Story do not provide further details about the couple's private circumstances, and neither has issued a more extensive statement. The social-media interactions nonetheless served to publicly reaffirm their relationship after months of public scrutiny and conflicting reports.
