Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger and his wife Dee completed the renovation of a 21,000-square-foot mansion on South Ocean Boulevard in Palm Beach, Florida. The estate, named Coral House, sits on three acres and includes a private tunnel beneath the road connecting the main house to a 300-foot stretch of beach. The home is arranged to accommodate seven grown children ages 16 to 29 and a broad circle of friends who visit often.

The couple searched for a space that could fuse the elements they loved about their Greenwich, Connecticut, and Miami homes. They wanted the long driveway and expansive grounds of Greenwich alongside the beachside location and light-filled interiors of Miami. After viewing several properties they bought a two-story mansion built in the 1970s by John L Volk. The house had fallen into disrepair but offered a pedigree that fit their aims.

Interior design was led by Cindy Rinfret, who splits time between Greenwich and Palm Beach. The project took three years and aimed to realize a Florida feel that avoids cliché. Coral became a signature motif, integrating color, material choices and architectural details. The couple named the estate Coral House in homage to the palette and the material.

Inside the home rooms blend luxury with practical family space. Dressing rooms lean toward a boutique vibe, with coral lacquer in the casualwear area and custom bookcases clad with coral-stone dust. Main spaces feature walls clad in coral stone sourced from the Dominican Republic, and silk curtains lined with a bespoke coral patterned fabric. A wall opening allows a view through to the garage, which houses Hilfiger s car collection, including a pink 1957 Ford Thunderbird and a 1991 Rolls-Royce Corniche. The kitchen is described by the designer as the Ferrari of kitchens for its scale and finishes.

For a blue space that Dee requested, Rinfret designed an indigo palm motif on Gracie wallpaper for a guest room. In the entry hall, visitors are greeted by two Andy Warhol silkscreens, Flowers and Self-Portrait, while the neoclassical-inspired living room centers on Mousquetaire aux Oiseaux II by Picasso from 1972.

One of the home’s signature social spaces is the Coral Bar, with vibrant lacquered surfaces and bamboo trim where family and friends gather for drinks and sociables. The dining room features hand-painted lemon-tree panels by de Gournay and leads to a dish room where Dee displays her collection of rare tableware. The couple champions a philosophy of dressing rooms that feel like private boutiques, balancing glamour with everyday usability. A large hole was cut through a wall to bring in the marble kitchen units, and the space offers a view into the garage and the car gallery.

The Coral House sits within Palm Beach’s storied style scene, with neighbors that include actors Jon Bon Jovi and Sylvester Stallone. The project is part of Hilfiger Homes, a broader publication by James Reginato, photographed by Douglas Friedman and published by Vendome Press.
