Tommy Detamore, a respected figure in country music as a pedal steel guitarist and producer, has died at the age of 70. His wife, Sandra, announced his passing on Wednesday in a Facebook post.
"Tommy was and will always be remembered as a respected musician, producer, collaborator, mentor, and creative force in Country Music," Sandra Detamore wrote. "Not to mention the love of my life."
She further stated that Detamore's musical contributions had "shape[d] the sound of country music we hear today." The cause of his death was not disclosed.
Detamore was recognized for his skill as a pedal steel guitarist and his work as a producer, leaving a significant mark on the country music community.
