Tom Holland's affectionate nickname for his wife, Zendaya, was revealed this week during a promotional event for their upcoming film, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." While attending a premiere in Rome, Holland was overheard calling out to Zendaya using her middle name, "Maree." The couple, who recently confirmed their marriage, are currently on a press tour for the movie.

While speaking with reporters on the red carpet, Holland, 30, gestured toward a nearby gelateria and asked, "Maree, do you remember the name of that place?" Zendaya, 29, who was being interviewed nearby, responded, "Giolitti's!" She later told reporters that it was where they planned to go after the event.

The couple appeared in good spirits at the premiere, held at the UGC Cinema City Bercy in Paris on Wednesday, laughing and interacting with fans. Zendaya, known for her thematic dressing during press tours, wore an oversized graphic print T-shirt featuring Spider-Man, paired with white stilettos and diamond drop earrings. Holland complemented the theme in a red Spider-Man jacket over a white shirt and dark trousers.

Holland recently confirmed his marriage to Zendaya in an interview with Esquire UK, stating, "I found my person. I'm the happiest I've ever been." He addressed speculation fueled by AI-generated images of the couple, confirming that their nuptials did occur and that family members were present. Zendaya's stylist, Law Roach, had previously alluded to the marriage in February, though the couple had not officially commented at the time.

"Our business can present very stressful situations, and it's really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time," Holland said about their partnership. "We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it's like to live this life... for me, I found my person. She's my best friend, and I'm the happiest I have ever been when I'm with her, but I have also never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period."

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day," scheduled for release on July 29, is set four years after the events of "No Way Home." The film follows Peter Parker, played by Holland, as he grapples with the isolation of being a full-time Spider-Man whose civilian identity has been forgotten due to a spell cast by Doctor Strange. The immense pressure of his situation triggers a genetic mutation that causes his superpowers to malfunction. Zendaya reprises her role as Michelle "MJ" Jones-Watson, Peter's love interest and former classmate.
