British actor Tim Curry died of coronary artery disease, his spokesman confirmed to the BBC.
Curry, best known for his role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 1975 cult classic "The Rocky Horror Show," passed away at his Los Angeles home on August 25 at the age of 80. His death certificate, filed in Los Angeles County, also cited a history of stroke and kidney cancer as significant contributing factors.
Following a near-fatal stroke in 2012, Curry used a wheelchair. He subsequently shifted his career focus to voice acting, expressing gratitude that the stroke did not affect his ability to speak. He continued to attend film conventions and last year published his memoir, "Vagabond," in which he discussed the stroke and his recovery.
"If there was anything impressed upon me in the aftermath, it was just how remarkable it was that I was still alive," Curry was quoted as saying by People.
