The cast of HBO’s The White Lotus was photographed celebrating at an Emmys afterparty late Sunday despite the series being passed over for television’s top drama prize, as a night of awards favored The Pitt, The Studio and the limited series Adolescence.

The Pitt took home the Emmy for Best Drama Series, and its star Noah Wyle earned his first Emmy as Best Actor in a Drama Series. Actors from The White Lotus — who received multiple nominations across categories but did not win the top drama award — were seen mingling and partying after the ceremony, with some attendees ditching formal footwear and one gown showing signs of a muddy encounter.

Photographs from the afterparty showed Meghann Fahy of The White Lotus swapping high heels for clogs and Aimee Lou Wood with mud on the hem of her gown. The images captured a loose, celebratory atmosphere among cast and crew, even as other programs collected major honors on the awards telecast.

In addition to The Pitt’s wins, Severance and Andor earned major creative prizes. Britt Lower won Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Severance, and Tramell Tillman was named Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for the same show. Dan Gilroy won the Emmy for Writing for a Drama Series for Andor, while Adam Randall took home Best Directing for a Drama Series for an episode of Slow Horses.

Limited and anthology series awards also highlighted a strong night for Adolescence. The anthology earned the Emmy for Best Limited or Anthology Series, Stephen Graham won Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his work in Adolescence, and Philip Barantini won Best Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for the same show. Cristin Milioti won Best Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in The Penguin, and Owen Cooper became the youngest male actor to win an Emmy after taking Best Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Adolescence.

Comedy honors went to The Studio, which won Best Comedy Series. Seth Rogen earned Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on The Studio, and the series also took home awards for writing and directing in comedy categories. Jean Smart won Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Hacks, while Hannah Einbinder won Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Reality and variety categories included wins for The Traitors as Best Reality Competition Program, RuPaul Charles as Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program for RuPaul’s Drag Race, and SNL 50: The Anniversary Special, which won Outstanding Variety Special (Live). Stephen Colbert received a standing ovation as he was honored with an Emmy for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, which won Best Talk Series.

Other individual winners included Katherine LaNasa, who was named Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for The Pitt; Shawn Hatosy, who won Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his work on The Pitt; and Merritt Wever, who won Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Severance.

The Emmy ceremony reflected a broad field of television storytelling across drama, comedy and limited series, with juries and voters recognizing both established programs and newer entries. While The White Lotus secured nominations in several acting categories, its principal ensemble did not capture the evening’s headline creative prizes, and cast members were seen enjoying the afterparty atmosphere despite the snubs.

Organizers and attendees celebrated the winners onstage and at post-ceremony events, where fashion and revelry were on display alongside acknowledgments of craft and achievement. The awards come amid a television season that featured a mix of prestige streaming projects, legacy broadcast titles and an expanding slate of limited series that drew critical attention and awards recognition.
