The new romantic drama film, ‘The Last Sunrise,’ which began streaming on Amazon Prime Video, utilized the picturesque landscapes of Mallorca, Spain, as its primary filming location. The movie, directed by Carlson Young and based on a book by Anna Todd, centers on a teenage girl, Oriah “Ry” Pera, played by Maia Reficco, who navigates a potential memory-altering surgery while on a trip to her mother’s childhood home on the island.

Reficco, who portrays Ry, spent two months filming on Mallorca, describing the experience as a "dream come true." She noted that having a personal guide through her friend, Spanish singer-songwriter Borja, enhanced her connection to the role, allowing her to experience the island much like her character.

Key filming sites on Mallorca include Sa Fortaleza de Pollença, a historic mansion and fortress that served as the resort where Ry and her mother, Isolde (played by Eva Longoria), stay. The production also captured scenes in the small coastal village of Deià and the northwestern village of Valldemossa, known for its traditional stone houses and cobblestone streets.

The film also features a scene on Cala Macarella, a cove located on the neighboring island of Menorca, which has been recognized for its scenic beaches. This specific location is where Ry and the character Julian, a local played by Fernando Lindez, first meet.
