Netflix has renewed the crime drama series ‘The Gentlemen’ for a third season. The announcement came in August, prior to the premiere of the second season, ensuring the continuation of Eddie Horniman’s criminal enterprise.

Creator Guy Ritchie is set to return for the upcoming season. "The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded, and the consequences carry weight,” Ritchie stated in an announcement. “A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further.”

The first season of ‘The Gentlemen’ premiered in March 2024 and achieved considerable success as one of Netflix’s British series, making a second season a swift decision for the streamer. The second season premiered on September 3, 2026, with all eight episodes released simultaneously.

Season 3 Storyline and Cast

Specific plot details for Season 3 have not yet been revealed, aligning with the series’ tendency for twists and surprises. However, actor Theo James, who portrays Eddie, indicated to People that the creative team has a general direction for the third season, intending to expand the show's world and explore international settings.

This aligns with the trajectory established in Season 2, which saw Eddie, formerly a reluctant aristocrat, becoming more entrenched in the criminal underworld alongside Susie Glass. Their operations expand to include new international players, particularly within the Italian underworld, a direction that Season 3 is expected to further develop.

While Netflix has not officially announced the Season 3 cast, Theo James and Kaya Scodeliano are anticipated to reprise their roles as Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass, respectively. Ray Winstone, who plays Bobby Glass, is also a significant character, though his continued presence will depend on the narrative progression following Season 2. The ensemble cast from previous seasons has also included Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, and Vinnie Jones.

Season 2 introduced new characters played by Hugh Bonneville, Maya Jama, Michele Morrone, Benedetta Porcaroli, and Sergio Castellitto. It remains to be seen which of these new characters will feature in the third season.

Meghan Markle Casting Rumors

Speculation regarding Meghan Markle potentially joining the cast for Season 3 has circulated widely. Reports suggest discussions have taken place, although no official confirmation has been made. Netflix's U.K. scripted chief, Manda Levin, responded to inquiries about Markle's potential involvement with a statement that fueled further speculation. However, Theo James has downplayed these rumors, referring to them as "mainly a lot of hot air" and humorously suggesting other casting possibilities.

If Markle were to join the series, it would mark a significant return to scripted acting for her, as she stepped away from acting in 2018. The confirmation of her casting, or lack thereof, is still pending.

Viewing Information

Both seasons of ‘The Gentlemen’ are currently available for streaming exclusively on Netflix. Season 3 is expected to be available on the platform upon its release.
