“Desperate Housewives” star Teri Hatcher is rumored to be stepping into the role of Miranda Priestly in the London stage production of “The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical,” according to sources close to the production.
Hatcher, also known for her role in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” would take over the part previously played by Vanessa Williams. Williams has been portraying the fictional Runway editor-in-chief since 2024. Representatives for Hatcher and the musical have not yet responded to requests for comment.
The musical, which features music by Elton John, has been a major success at the Dominion Theatre, becoming the fastest-selling show in its history. The production recently announced an extension of its run through September 25, 2027. However, Williams is scheduled to depart the role on September 19.
While there has been speculation about a potential Broadway transfer for the musical, no official announcements have been made regarding a U.S. production or casting.
Hatcher has prior theater experience, having appeared in touring productions of “Cabaret” and “The Addams Family!” musical.
