Taylor Swift did not attend fiancé Travis Kelce’s first Kansas City Chiefs home game of the 2025-26 NFL season on Sunday, drawing notice from fans on social media as the Chiefs hosted the Philadelphia Eagles at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
Representatives for Swift did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment. The absence followed Swift’s apparent nonattendance at the team’s season-opening game last Friday in São Paulo, Brazil, and at the MTV Video Music Awards two days later, Page Six reported.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, 35, played in the team’s schedule-opening matchup in São Paulo, which Page Six said saw the Los Angeles Chargers win 27-21. The home matchup against the Eagles came roughly seven months after the Chiefs’ loss in Super Bowl LIX.
Kelce and Swift, both 35, began dating in the summer of 2023 and went public at one of Kelce’s home games in September of that year. The couple announced their engagement in late August after Kelce proposed on Aug. 10, immediately following Swift’s appearance on his “New Heights” podcast. The pair posted a joint announcement on Aug. 26 featuring photos from the proposal.
In interviews and family recollections reported by Page Six, Kelce described becoming emotional during the proposal and said he “can’t wait to spend the rest of my life” with Swift. Page Six also reported that Kelce asked Swift’s father, Scott Swift, for permission about a month before proposing and that the ring is an old-mine brilliant-cut diamond the tight end helped design.
Page Six’s coverage has included accounts from unnamed insiders who described plans for a private wedding ceremony with family and close friends, possibly at Swift’s Rhode Island property next summer. The outlet also reported that the couple has looked at a property in Ohio. Those reports were presented as insider claims and not confirmed by representatives for either Swift or Kelce.
Swift’s absence at high-profile events connected to Kelce has spurred discussion on social platforms, where fans and observers noted her nonattendance and shared theories about scheduling and privacy. Kelce has previously spoken about the couple’s relationship in media appearances, but neither party has made a public statement explaining her absence from Sunday’s game.
The Chiefs’ regular-season schedule will continue with away and home dates through the autumn; any future public appearances by Swift at Kelce’s games will likely draw continued attention given the couple’s high-profile status in both music and sports.
