Taylor Swift attended a soft-launch event Monday evening for 1587 Prime Steakhouse in Kansas City alongside her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, sources told TMZ and Page Six.
The pair arrived “hand in hand” at about 6:15 p.m., according to the reports, and were described as keeping a low-key but affectionate presence at the event. Guests said they spent most of the night in a semi-private corner booth, sharing occasional kisses and greeting other attendees as they moved through the room.
Witnesses told the outlets that Swift, 35, wore a blue denim dress with wedge heels and styled her hair in a side-swept look, while Kelce, 35, dressed casually in a cap and a green striped top. The athlete was said to joke with teammates and frequently glance toward his fiancée during the evening. Guests and staff described Swift as "funny, gracious and approachable," saying she made time to greet people as she passed.
Kelce co-owns 1587 Prime with teammate Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, attended the event with their children but were seated separately, the reports said. Swift was reportedly photographed holding the Mahomes' infant daughter, Golden, and interacting with their other children, Sterling and Bronze.
A spokesperson for the restaurant was not immediately available for comment, and representatives for Swift and Kelce did not immediately respond to requests for comment, Page Six said. The Kansas City eatery is scheduled to hard-launch on Sept. 17.
The appearance came days after Kelce traveled to Brazil for the Chiefs’ season opener. Swift did not attend the game in São Paulo, Page Six reported, citing the lengthy travel involved.
The soft-launch outing follows the couple’s joint engagement announcement on Aug. 26. Page Six reported that the proposal occurred weeks earlier in a rose-filled backyard and that Kelce asked with an old mine brilliant-cut diamond estimated at about $1 million. Sources told the outlet the couple plans to marry in Rhode Island next summer in a private ceremony that is expected to be more casual than some have imagined.
The visit adds to a string of public appearances for the pair since their engagement, as attention follows both Kelce’s off-field ventures and Swift’s touring and entertainment commitments. Organizers of the soft launch and attendees described the night as a supportive gathering of friends and family ahead of the restaurant’s official opening.
