Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding ceremony and reception took place on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, with details of the event now surfacing from attendees. AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron, who was a guest, described a significant transformation of the venue in a now-deleted social media post.
Aron recounted that the arena was draped in peach and white upon entry, with enlarged photographs of Swift and Kelce displayed. A portion of Madison Square Garden was cordoned off, evoking an outdoor garden setting with green and white decor, real flowers, and artificial trees. Fifteen rows of approximately 75 chairs were arranged for the ceremony.
According to Aron, the event felt intimate despite an estimated one thousand attendees. "Relaxing and mellow romantic songs" played before a small ensemble of violins and a cello introduced the wedding party. Kelce reportedly wore a white tuxedo, while Swift donned a white wedding dress with a long train. Adam Sandler is said to have officiated the ceremony, offering a welcome that was "warm and welcoming, funny and eloquent."
The vows were described as "long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing explorations" by both Swift and Kelce, detailing how they met, their commitment to each other, and the joining of their families. Their "profound love" was evident, culminating in a "sweep you off your feet kiss."
The reception continued the garden theme with "superb food and drink" and music. Swift's aunt, Robin Gentry, shared that the couple "cried, and they laughed, and they danced, and they hugged, and they kissed."
While preparations were observed at Madison Square Garden in the days leading up to the event, confirmation came after the ceremony. Signs outside the venue displayed "JUST&T MARRIED" on Friday evening. A representative for Swift confirmed to People that both the bride and groom wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture creations. Their shoes were custom-made by Christian Louboutin, and Swift wore jewelry from Cartier.
The couple opted against a traditional wedding party. Swift's brother, Austin, served as her "Man of Honor," and Kelce's brother, Jason, was his best man.
Numerous celebrities were seen departing Madison Square Garden in the late evening and early morning hours. Among the notable guests were Tom Hanks, Paul McCartney, Steven Spielberg, Paul Rudd, Selena Gomez, Adam Scott, Jessica Alba, Danny Ramirez, Gigi Hadid, and Bradley Cooper. Hugh Grant and his wife were also present. Kelsea Ballerini, Ed Sheeran, and Jennifer Lopez were seen arriving earlier in the evening.
