Nicole Taylor, a singer with the country music group Taylor Red, has died at the age of 35. Her identical twin sisters and bandmates, Natalie and Nika, announced her passing in a YouTube video released Monday.
Taylor died in Nashville, Tennessee, on September 28 following a battle with breast cancer. The sisters shared that she was diagnosed in 2022.
"Nicole, the oldest of us three sisters, will be greatly missed. She was our leader and our best friend. We are heartbroken, but we know she is in Heaven and will see her again," Natalie and Nika said in a statement on their website. "This isn’t the video we thought we’d ever be making. You know, we thought she would be here sharing her story of earthly healing, but instead we're here sharing her story of heavenly healing and she's at peace and no longer suffering, so we're thankful for that."
Describing their close bond, Natalie noted that Nicole was only a minute older than her and two minutes older than Nika. She characterized Nicole as the sister who would often speak on their behalf and was "fearless with what she battled."
A private funeral service has been held. A memorial page has been established for fans wishing to donate to Taylor's favorite charities.
