Angelina Jolie made a low-key appearance at a screening of the film "Wild Horse Nine" in Hollywood on Monday evening. The actress's appearance coincided with her 18-year-old daughter, Vivienne, officially dropping her father Brad Pitt's last name. Vivienne is now legally known as Vivienne Jolie.

A Los Angeles judge granted Vivienne's petition to change her name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. The court document stated that there were no objections to the petition. This marks the fourth of Jolie and Pitt's children to formally change their surname. Shiloh, 20, legally dropped the name last year, and Maddox, 25, and Zahara, 21, have also filed paperwork to do so. Vivienne's twin brother Knox and older brother Pax are the only children who have not yet legally filed to change their surnames.

Vivienne's name change follows a petition she filed in August, which is a standard step before a court approves a name change. She published notice of her petition for four consecutive weeks from July 24 to August 14. The reason listed for the name change in court documents was "personal."

In May, Vivienne notably dropped her father's surname in the Playbill program for the Broadway production of "The Outsiders," where she served as a producer alongside her mother.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who were married from 2014 to 2024, have six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox. Their relationship ended after a plane incident in 2016, followed by a lengthy divorce battle. Sources close to Angelina have stated that she wants "everyone to heal," and that the children's silence on public matters shows their "decency."

Sources close to Brad Pitt have previously described his rift with his children as "deeply painful" and believe Angelina's role in their estrangement to be a "betrayal." However, other sources have defended Pitt, insisting he is not an absent father and desires a relationship with his children. He is currently dating jewelry designer Ines de Ramon.
