Actress Tamzin Outhwaite has revealed a surprising family connection to her friend and television presenter Holly Willoughby. Outhwaite, 55, explained that she is related to Willoughby through marriage, as Willoughby is married to Outhwaite's cousin, Dan Baldwin.
"Girlfriends are just the best. Holly's also family, she's married to my cousin Dan so we see each other at family dos too," Outhwaite told Closer Magazine. She also offered a glimpse into their family gatherings, noting that Boxing Day is a significant occasion at Willoughby and Baldwin's home. "We all get together, do secret Santa and Holly cooks. She's an amazing cook!"
Willoughby, 45, married Dan Baldwin in May 2009. The couple have three children: Harry, Belle, and Chester. The revelation comes after years of speculation, with questions about their relation first arising in 2017 when Willoughby posted a picture with Outhwaite and referred to her as her cousin. Outhwaite later confirmed the connection during her appearance on The Masked Singer in 2021. Following Outhwaite's unmasking, a surprised Willoughby stated, "My husband’s mum and Tamzin’s mum were sisters, so we’re like cousins-in-law. We’re practically related!"
Outhwaite, known for her role in EastEnders, is mother to Flo, 18, and Marnie, 12, from her previous marriage to actor Tom Ellis, from whom she separated in 2014. She also recently discussed on a podcast how her ex-boyfriend of six years, Tom Child, remains a close figure in her family's life. "[He] has been around for the whole of like Flo's transitioning period, for the whole of Marnie becoming a girl that was discovering all sorts of stuff and boys, and so he is still a member of the family," she shared.
Outhwaite and Willoughby's shared experiences also include participating in the 2022 survival series Freeze The Fear with Wim Hof. During the show, Outhwaite sustained an under-ice head injury, an incident that visibly distressed Willoughby.
