Atlanta police on Tuesday arrested a suspect in a July auto break-in that two people touring with Beyoncé said resulted in the theft of the singer’s unreleased music.

Authorities identified the suspect as Kelvin Evans, who was booked into jail on charges of entering a vehicle with intent to commit theft and a parole violation, according to police. Online jail records for Fulton County did not list an attorney for Evans.

The incident was reported July 8 by Christopher Grant, a choreographer, and dancer Diandre Blue, who were traveling with Beyoncé for concerts in Atlanta. The pair told police a window of their rental vehicle had been smashed while they were at a nearby restaurant and two suitcases were taken.

Grant told police he had been “carrying some personal sensitive information” for Beyoncé, and the police report said the stolen items included two Apple laptops and five thumb drives containing “unreleased music” as well as other digital files related to the singer’s tour. Atlanta police spokesman Anthony Grant said in an email Tuesday that none of the items have been recovered.

Police have not released additional details about the circumstances that led to the arrest, and court records tied to the case provided limited information on the suspect’s representation. The department did not immediately provide a timeline for any arraignment or additional charges.

The arrest follows an investigation that began after the July report by members of Beyoncé’s touring company. Atlanta police said the case remains under investigation as they work to determine the full extent of the theft and the whereabouts of the missing devices and data.

Representatives for Beyoncé did not immediately comment. The development was first reported by The Associated Press and published by local outlets.
