Suri Noelle, the 20-year-old daughter of actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, recently made her British acting debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She appeared in a queer adaptation of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," performing for an audience of 33 people. Noelle portrayed four characters in the production: Helena, a mustardseed, a flute, and a seed.
Noelle, who has legally dropped her father's surname and now uses her mother's middle name, Noelle, performed alongside eight of her fellow students from Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The production took place in a pop-up venue on Edinburgh’s St. Andrews Square, which has a capacity of 68.
One audience member described Noelle's performance as "incredible," stating, "She genuinely stole the show, she was excellent."
Tom Cruise was not in attendance at the performance. Cruise and his youngest daughter have reportedly been estranged for over a decade, following his divorce from Katie Holmes in 2012.
Despite her parents' prominent careers in Hollywood, Noelle has reportedly sought to avoid leveraging "nepo-baby" privileges. Since graduating from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in 2024, she has lived in a standard college dorm room at Carnegie Mellon with a roommate.
The Edinburgh Fringe run for "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is scheduled for two weeks. Noelle's name was not listed in the official program, a measure likely intended to avoid drawing attention to her famous family.
