Sunny Hostin was not present at the Hot Topics table for Thursday's episode of ABC's daytime talk show "The View." Whoopi Goldberg, the show's moderator, addressed Hostin's absence at the beginning of the program, informing viewers that Hostin was not present.
Goldberg explained that Hostin was conducting an interview with former First Lady Jill Biden regarding her memoir, "View from the East Wing." Goldberg indicated that viewers would see Hostin again next week. Ana Navarro, who typically does not appear on Thursdays, filled in for Hostin during the episode.
The program also featured Anya Taylor-Joy, star of Apple TV's miniseries "Lucky," as a guest. The co-hosts also continued their summer reading recommendations segment, with Alyssa Farah Griffin scheduled to share her picks on Thursday's show.
On Wednesday, July 15, Hostin had shared her own book recommendations, which included Jane Green's "Rewilding: Freedom, Friendship, and Finding Our Way Home" and Mara Brock Akil's "The Revelation of Dionne Daphne."
