Suki Waterhouse has offered a rare glimpse into her past relationships, describing one significant romance as a "disaster at the end." While not naming the individual, the model alluded to relationships from her "younger" years, suggesting that two-year relationships from that period often ended poorly.
Waterhouse, who is currently in a relationship with Robert Pattinson, reflected on her past during an interview with The Sunday Times. She expressed surprise at her current happiness with Pattinson, noting a pattern of shorter relationships in her youth. "If it was two years, it would have been a disaster at the end," she stated.
She recalled entering relationships blindly in her younger years without fully considering the consequences, especially when dealing with public scrutiny. "You don't really have any concept of any repercussions of being in things that are public that might be hard to [navigate]," Waterhouse said.
Waterhouse dated Bradley Cooper between 2013 and 2015. Their relationship garnered media attention partly due to the 17-year age gap, with Waterhouse being 21 and Cooper 38 at the time.
Following a past heartbreak, which appeared to be her split from Cooper, Waterhouse described isolating herself at home and feeling the need to leave her "stifling" modeling career. She felt "quite depressed" but channeled these feelings into her songwriting.
Waterhouse told The Sunday Times that she has learned the importance of maintaining a private life alongside a public one. She previously touched on her breakup with Cooper in a 2024 British Vogue interview, calling the experience "disorienting" and isolating due to the inability to publicly explain the "dark and difficult" story behind their split.
Waterhouse has been in a relationship with actor Robert Pattinson since 2018. The couple welcomed a daughter in 2024 and have sparked engagement rumors. Waterhouse mentioned that wedding plans are currently on hold for the year, with the couple intending to have a large celebration when they decide to marry.
Her past relationships also include musician Miles Kane and actor Diego Luna. Bradley Cooper has been dating Gigi Hadid since 2023, following a four-year relationship with Irina Shayk, with whom he shares a daughter.
