Professional dancers Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu, known for their roles on Strictly Come Dancing, are set to appear on Celebrity Gogglebox. The duo will transition from the ballroom to the television sofa to offer their commentary on current programming.
Dowden described the experience as "fab-u-lous," noting it was a welcome change from being on her feet. "It was such a treat to sit back, laugh, and react to all those brilliant shows," she stated, emphasizing the enjoyable moments shared with Gu and the audience.
Gu echoed her sentiment, calling the experience "so much fun." He added, "I'm very expressive anyway, so you can imagine, I don't hold back when I'm watching TV!" He also commented on the show's focus on emotion and humor, stating, "It felt like me and Amy were having our own little party on the sofa."
The pair will be joined by a variety of other celebrities on the program, including Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally, Olivia Attwood and her mother, Gladiators Legends Matthew Morsia and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, content creators George Clark and Max Balegde, and actors Julian Clary and Nigel Havers.
Dowden and Gu have also been active with their live tour, "Amy and Carlos: Reborn." Both are confirmed to return for the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing. Earlier this year, several professional dancers were dropped from the show, prompting discussion about the dancers' careers. Gu previously stated that Strictly is more than just a job, describing it as "our life" and the "best platform you can ever be on" for dancers to showcase their talent.
Celebrity Gogglebox is scheduled to air Friday at 9 p.m. on Channel 4.
