Stockard Channing, 82, shared humorous anecdotes about her role as Betty Rizzo in the 1978 film "Grease," particularly her age when she portrayed the high school student. Appearing on the British talk show "Lorraine," Channing recounted her experience playing the character at 30 years old.

"I was like, let's go for it. Let's go play the world's oldest teenager!" Channing said, recalling her approach to the role. She also quipped about the costume choices, noting that the characters' all-black attire did not help in appearing youthful. "I said, couldn't I at least have a Peter Pan collar?"

The upcoming 50th anniversary of "Grease" was a focal point of the discussion. Channing also mentioned her directorial debut with "Krapp's Last Tape" at the Edinburgh Festival, a project that supports The Wembley to Soweto Foundation. She was motivated to take on the role of Rizzo in "Grease" partly due to financial pressures, stating she was "lucky to even get a job" at the time.

Channing's career spans decades, with notable roles in "The West Wing," "Practical Magic," and an Oscar-nominated performance in the film adaptation of "Six Degrees of Separation." She has been married and divorced four times and has no children, currently residing in London.

Looking ahead, Channing revealed she would be reprising her role as Aunt Frances Owens in "Practical Magic 2."
