Stephen Amell, known for his role as the Green Arrow in The CW's "Arrow," auditioned for the part of Rob-Will Jackson, the villain in the first season of Paramount+'s "Dutton Ranch." The role was ultimately cast with Jai Courtney.
Amell discussed his audition experience on the podcast "Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum." He explained that after reading the character breakdown, he felt the role was better suited for Courtney, stating, "I don’t think I’m right for this, this feels like a Jai Courtney part." Amell noted that he and Courtney are often typecast for similar roles.
Rob-Will Jackson was killed off in the "Dutton Ranch" Season 1 finale, making his return in Season 2 unlikely unless through flashbacks. The series was officially renewed for a second season by Paramount.
