The cast of Guy Ritchie's crime drama "The Gentlemen" gathered at the Guildhall Art Gallery in London for the season two premiere. Maya Jama, making her acting debut in the series, arrived in a daring leather gown, while Kaya Scodelario embraced a dazzling diamond ensemble.

Jama, 32, portrays Aisha, the wife of a criminal associate of Theo James's character, Eddie Horniman. Scodelario, 34, reprises her role as Susie Glass, the daughter of a mobster who manages a cannabis empire. James, who plays a duke turned crime boss, was also in attendance, dressed in a bespoke suit. Hugh Bonneville joined the cast for the second season as the character Lord Hawthorne.

The new season of the crime comedy-drama, set to release on Netflix, will see James's character Eddie attempt to regain full control of his estate and expand the criminal enterprise. The plot involves navigating challenges from Bobby Glass, played by Ray Winstone, and explores Eddie and Susie's ambitions to potentially "decriminalize marijuana." Giancarlo Esposito returns as Stanley Johnston, encouraging Eddie to forge his own path.

Vinnie Jones and Daniel Ings also return as Geoffrey Seacombe and Freddy Horniman, respectively.

Reports circulated prior to the premiere that Meghan Markle had been offered a role in a potential third season of the show. However, according to royal author Tina Brown, the offer was reportedly withdrawn due to an "intense" backlash in Britain, making it untenable to proceed. Brown stated that the casting of Markle had been withdrawn, suggesting it "does not bode well for Markle's acting comeback."

Markle had previously expressed a disinterest in returning to acting, telling Variety magazine in 2022, "I'm done. I guess never say never but my intention is absolutely not." Speculation had linked a potential return to acting with her and Prince Harry's reported return to Britain.
