The press tour for director Christopher Nolan's new film "The Odyssey" has become a stage for elaborate fashion statements by its stars, even as Nolan himself faces online controversy. Actors including Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, and Matt Damon have garnered attention for their red carpet appearances during the film's promotional events in London and Paris.

Zendaya, who plays the goddess Athena in the film, has consistently impressed with her wardrobe choices. For various events, she donned ensembles inspired by Greek mythology. One notable look was a flowing white Jacquemus gown with a halter neckline and a dramatic low back, accessorized with reportedly ancient gold earrings. Another appearance featured a Schiaparelli gown with a sculpted bodice and a beaded, fringed skirt, designed to evoke ancient Greek statues. At the Paris premiere, she wore a sheer white dress with a midriff cutout and ruffles.

Anne Hathaway, who is expecting her third child, also made a series of notable appearances. In London, she wore a flowing white off-the-shoulder Blumarine Resort gown. For the film's premiere in the same city, she chose a strapless blue Dior gown with a pleated skirt and floral embellishment. Hathaway later showcased her baby bump in a custom brown Louis Vuitton dress at the Paris premiere.

Matt Damon, portraying the titular Odysseus, appeared in a dark red suit at the premiere. Damon has spoken about the demanding physical preparation for the role, describing it as a "complete lifestyle change."

Other cast members also made strong fashion statements. Charlize Theron wore a sleek black Givenchy gown with white opera gloves to the London premiere, followed by a sheer white Givenchy lace dress with black lace designs at the Paris event. Lupita Nyong'o opted for sheer Chanel dresses for both the London and Paris premieres, one in sparkling silver and the other in red with intricate lace cutouts.

Tom Holland, who plays Telemachus, Odysseus's son, wore a green suit for the Paris premiere.

Despite the sartorial highlights, director Christopher Nolan has reportedly faced criticism regarding casting choices, historical inaccuracies, and the use of modern dialogue in the film.
