Cast members and guests gathered at The London West Hollywood hotel for a pre-release screening of the upcoming comedy "Spa Weekend." The event, hosted by indie production company Black Bear Pictures, offered attendees a variety of luxury amenities ahead of the film's August 21 theatrical release.
The penthouse suite provided a range of pampering activities, including makeovers by Glamsquad, custom engraved gua shas from ResortPass, aura photography, and mahjong lessons from Oh My Mahjong. Guests also participated in a collaborative art piece with Painting with a Twist, visited a BLSSD the Label charm bar, and enjoyed Jamba Juice smoothies. An open bar served themed cocktails such as the “Somebody Sage Me” greyhound and a “Ride or Die” margarita.
Scott Moore, who co-wrote and directed "Spa Weekend" with Jon Lucas, highlighted the collaborative experience. "This filmmaking experience tops the list," Moore stated, praising the cast as "a dream to work with."
Among the film's stars in attendance were Isla Fisher, Leslie Mann, Anna Faris, and Adam Demos. The movie itself centers on four friends whose planned spa retreat takes an unexpected turn.
Following the screening, attendees received swag bags containing items such as Hand & Stone Massage slippers, eye masks, Avon products, Harry & David Moose Munch, Cheryl’s cookies, a bottle of Yes Way Rosé, and "Spa Weekend" branded eye patches.
Co-director Jon Lucas playfully commented on the hotel's name, "The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills. It’s a hotel that’s so nice, it has three cities in the name. I barely got here!" He and Moore have a long-standing collaboration, having previously worked together on "The Hangover" and "Bad Moms."
