Stacey Solomon arrived hand-in-hand with her young daughters at the National Television Awards on Wednesday, turning heads on the red carpet in a slinky black cowl-neck gown.
The 35-year-old presenter was accompanied by her family as she entered the O2 Arena in London, holding the hands of three-year-old Rose and two-year-old Belle, who wore matching rainbow sequin dresses. Earlier in the day Solomon posted a behind-the-scenes Instagram snap of the outfits hung on a wardrobe door, captioned: "ITS NTA DAY." She also thanked fans for their support, writing, "From the bottom of our hearts for giving us this moment. We will never forget it & NEVER take it for granted. To the moon & back everyone."
Solomon is nominated in two categories at this year's NTAs: Best TV Presenter and Factual Entertainment, the latter for her fly-on-the-wall series with husband Joe Swash. The programme, which aired earlier this year, documented the couple's attempts to address strains in their marriage through therapy and featured their children, including son Rex, five, and Solomon's older sons Zachary, 17, and Leighton, 12. The BBC has confirmed a second series is in production and is due to air next year.
The National Television Awards — celebrating their 30th anniversary since being established in 1995 — are being staged at the O2 Arena with red carpet arrivals hosted by Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks. The winners are chosen by public vote, and the ceremony honours programmes and performers across drama, comedy, entertainment and factual categories. The event is being broadcast live on ITV2.
Solomon faces a crowded Best Presenter field that includes Ant and Dec, Alison Hammond, Claudia Winkleman and Gary Lineker. Geordie duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have dominated the category in recent years, claiming their 23rd consecutive win last year and are widely expected to be strong contenders again. Ant and Dec are also nominated in other categories, with their ITV series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! up for the best Reality TV award alongside Love Island, Race Across the World and The Traitors.
Drama categories reflect a strong year for television. Netflix's Adolescence, praised for Owen Cooper's performance, is nominated in the New Drama category and faces competition from Code of Silence, Ludwig, MobLand and Rivals. Long-running British serials are also in contention: Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Casualty, EastEnders and Hollyoaks vie for Best Serial Drama, a category that has seen renewed viewership after some shows became available on streaming platforms.
Comedy nominations include Gavin & Stacey, which aired its long-awaited final episode at Christmas 2024 and is being recognised one last time, alongside Brassic, Michael McIntyre's 25th Year Stand-Up Special and Mrs Brown's Boys. The awards cover a wide range of television output from quiz shows and daytime programming to returning dramas such as Call the Midwife and Slow Horses.
Solomon's presence on the red carpet follows a year in which the public and critics paid attention to personal, documentary-style programming. Her series with Swash attracted viewer interest for its candid depiction of family life and relationship challenges. The NTAs will continue through a series of performances and awards presentations during the evening, with winners determined by public voting conducted via post, telephone and online in keeping with the ceremony's public-led origins.
As the industry gathers for the evening, nominees and viewers will watch to see whether established favourites maintain their records or newer programmes and performers upset expectations. Solomon's dual nominations place her among the most visible contenders on a night that celebrates both enduring hits and recent breakout successes across British television.
