A Brazilian woman has been handed a suspended prison sentence for stalking BTS member Jungkook, including ringing his doorbell 133 times in a single visit. The Seoul District Court sentenced her to one year in prison, suspended for two years, and she is expected to be deported from South Korea unless she successfully appeals the verdict.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, began stalking the 28-year-old singer in December. She reportedly visited his home in Seoul on December 7, loitering around the property, throwing items over the wall, and leaving letters through door gaps, which she described as actions taken "out of love."
Days later, she returned and rang the doorbell 133 times. The court described this act as demonstrating an "extreme level of obsession."
She was arrested on December 13 after following a food delivery worker to gain entry through a side gate. Although released the next day with a warning, she disregarded the prohibition. Her continued visits in the following weeks led to police issuing an emergency order preventing her from approaching within 100 meters of the property. Despite this, she persisted, prompting police to refer her to prosecutors in February.
In total, the woman visited Jungkook's home approximately 22 times over less than two months. A district judge noted during the ruling that the risk of re-offending was deemed "not significant."
This incident follows a separate event in June of the previous year, when a Chinese woman was arrested in Seoul attempting to break into Jungkook's home shortly after his military service discharge.
