Elana Moore, a 39-year-old fitness instructor from South Carolina, vanished on June 11, leaving behind a trail of cryptic social media posts hinting at emotional turmoil before her body was discovered days later under a bridge. A definitive cause of death has not yet been released.

Moore, who was active on social media, had stopped posting for approximately a month leading up to her disappearance. She was last seen at a Planet Fitness in Lexington on June 11, shortly before 7 p.m. Later that evening, witnesses reported seeing her walk across the parking lot of a Publix and head towards a wooded area.

Her husband, Brannon Slice, reported her missing on June 12. Law enforcement located her body five days later. Investigators initially stated they did not suspect foul play and that Moore's husband was not considered a person of interest.

However, an autopsy report showed no evidence of traumatic injury, such as bruising, blunt force trauma, or lacerations. Further evaluations, including histological studies, medical record reviews, and toxicology testing, are pending.

Moore had utilized a secondary Instagram account to share introspective messages. In one post, she described feeling "exhausting hatred" and alluded to someone allowing her to "destroy" herself to keep "us" alive. She wrote of experiencing "disgust and resentment" towards someone she once loved, detailing how this individual turned love into something "painful" and "heavy."

Another post from December of an unspecified year described "dehumanizing" heartbreak. More recently, however, she indicated a sense of healing, stating, "War is over," and feeling free and at peace.

Friends of Moore have expressed shock and concern. Mendy Miller, a friend, described Moore's disappearance as "absolutely shocking" and out of character, noting that Moore had been trying to remove "toxic" people from her life. Miller stated she believes someone was responsible for Moore's death, finding it nonsensical for her to be found dead in the woods.

Another friend, speaking anonymously to TMZ, claimed Moore had been "paranoid" in the weeks leading up to her disappearance and had expressed fear for her life. Lauren Beasley, a third friend, echoed this sentiment to Fox News, highlighting Moore's typical social media activity and calling her silence "out of character."

Sondra Rachelle Campbell, another close friend, raised concerns about marital problems between Moore and her husband, telling NewsNation that she believed Moore was "literally afraid for her life."

Lee Snell, a friend of both Moore and her husband, stated that the couple were deeply saddened and distressed by the death, requesting privacy for Brannon Slice.
